About Donn

I’m an author, storyteller, speaker, and longtime student of how people connect, communicate, and make sense of the world.

I spent more than three decades teaching communication, and I’m now Professor Emeritus of Communication Studies at Pellissippi State Community College. Along the way, I’ve written fiction and nonfiction, spoken and taught for audiences of all kinds, coached writers and speakers, and helped independent authors bring their books into the world.

Curiosity is the thread running through most of what I do. I’m interested in good questions, good stories, complicated people, and what happens when we pay closer attention to all three.

These days, my work includes my own books, speaking and teaching, and independent publishing through Hidden Mentor Media. I also write romantic comedy under the pen name Devon Marin.
